I’ve been blogging for around a half a year now and I love it. That’s why I was very happy when Elle decides to nominate me for the Liebster Award and to recognize the hard work and the effort I’m putting into Owl Over The World.
What is a Liebster Award?
The Liebster Award 2017 is an award that exists only on the internet and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. – as told by the official site of the award. The Liebster award exists from 2011 now and many bloggers over the years have been nominated for it. The word ”Liebster” is coming from German and can be translated to sweet, kind, nice, lovely, pleasant, valued and welcome.
The Liebster Award is a great way to recognize the hard work of the other fellow bloggers. Once nominated, the award also motivates you to keep working hard and doing what you love and enjoy.
Who nominates me?
I was nominated for the Liebster Award by the sweet Elle from Dressing Danishly, which is fashion and cocktails lovers and dreams about moving to Copenhagen one day.
One of the Liebster Award requirements is to answer a few questions that the blogger nominates you have been prepared, and then to come up with a set of your own for the bloggers you are going to nominate.
Elle’s questions:
Have you ever traveled anywhere you were disappointed by? Why?
Disappointed by the overall destination no. But for example, I was disappointed by the Eiffel tower and by the Mona Lisa portrait at the Louvre. Why? Maybe because both are symbols for Paris and maybe I was expecting something more. The ’’giant’’ Eiffel tower didn’t seem so giant to me, and I have always thought that the Mona Lisa portrait is bigger as well. And the crowd in front of the Mona Lisa, yuk. However, I’m not a big museum fan and Mona Lisa was never very intrigue for me. I saw much more many impressive pieces of art at the Louvre.
But don’t get me wrong, Paris is a wonderful city and I was not disappointed by the city, just by those both famous symbols of Paris.
If you could only visit one more country, where would it be?
That’s an easy question. Actually, it’s not that easy when you have in mind that I want to see every country in the world, but if I need to choose one, I believe it would always be Peru.
Why Peru? Since I was probably 12 or something, I dream about visiting Machu Picchu, Titikana lake, etc. Since then not only Peru but South America, in general, has always been on the top of my bucket list.
I hope I never have to choose to visit just one more country, though.
Do you prefer to travel by plane, train or bus?
The plane is the fastest, of course, and can reveal some stunning bird-eye views, which I absolutely love. Traveling by train or bus, you can also enjoy many amazing views and I did have some very fun train and bus journeys.
As a conclusion, I do prefer travel by car whenever is possible. You choose the road, the time to go, when and where to stop, etc.

Which city do you think has the best fashion?
I think this depends on the style a person prefers. I’ve had seen many very well dressed (in my opinion) people in Germany. I also like the style of the Berliners.
Hotels v hostels: which team are you on?
Team, I love my bed the most, hah. Currently, I’m on the team ‘’hostels’’. Probably because I travel alone and hostels are more sociable. Of course, I would love to spoil myself sometimes in some nice hotel but in general, I keep it more budget-friendly and sociable.
If you were to write a book about travel, what would you call it?
Someday I want to write a book called ‘’How I Travel The Whole World And What I’ve Learned’’ or ‘’ Thoughts And Passions From My Journey Around The World’’ or something similar.
Are there any downsides to traveling?
Of course. There are downsides to everything. Nothing is perfect. And that’s the beauty of everything.
From my travel experience so far, I can share some downsides that I have faced. When I travel I always miss my family, often I just want to go to my own bed at the end of the day, etc.
But you know what? I love traveling just the way it is, uncomfortable sometimes, lonely sometimes.
My passion is stronger than that and my heart is always wanting more.
You’ve got a free one-way ticket to anywhere in the world: where would you pick?
Right now Nepal, India, Pakistan or Iran. But if this free one-way ticket has to be the only country that I can visit, like in question 2, then it would be Peru.
Any nightmare stories you can share whilst traveling?
I don’t like scary stories and thank God nothing frightening had ever happened to me while traveling. Maybe my Couchsurfing host in Rome. I won’t say that he was frightening but he was a little bit weird. However, I left as soon as I feel uncomfortable and there were no problems.
What are your blogging dreams for 2017?
I wish my blog to grow and grow and grow. More people to find inspiration and helpful tips in the face of Owl Over The World. And I hope one day I can proudly call it my business.
Where are you heading to next?
I haven’t started planning anything yet but I hope it would be Georgia quite soon.
UPDATE: I went to Georgia and I loved it!
Thanks for the question Elle, it was a pleasure answering them.
