Recently, I finally made it to Amsterdam. I went to the Netherland on a 10-day trip and I’ve stayed in Amsterdam for 5 of those days. During my stay there, I’ve stayed in two Stayokay hostels – Vondelpark and Stadsdoelen.
So, why Stayokay Vondelpark is a good option for you if you are wondering where to stay in Amsterdam Vondelpark.

Location
The hostel is located right next to the park, in a tiny and calm street. The entrance of the hostel is right against one of the entrances of the park.
Okay, let me tell you a bit more about the park. Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam and the most famous park in the Netherlands. According to some statistics, the park is welcoming about 10 million visitors every year.
Vondelpark is very centrally located between Leidseplein and Rijksmuseum. The park is overall very nice and perfect for relaxing, running, bicycling, picnics, meetings, barbecues, and many other activities. From what I can tell, the locals and the tourist love it. I’ve also liked it a lot and while I was staying is Stayokay Vondelpark, I went there a couple of times.
So, the hostel is right next to this awesome park and although it might be a bit noisy from the park sometimes, you won’t be bothered by that if you want to relax in the hostel.
Rooms
In Vondelpark, I’ve stayed in a dorm room. The room had its own shower and toilet and both the room and the bathroom were clean. The beds were comfortable as well.
Bar & Restaurant
The hostel has its own bar and restaurant.
At the bar, there is every day some kind of happy hour, like beer at half price, etc.
I can not tell anything about the restaurant though, as I haven’t eaten there, but when I was staying in the other Stayokay hostel in Amsterdam, Stasdoelen and also at the one in Den Haag, I had breakfast and they were great. Lots of food, coffee, juices, fruits. And I tend to believe that in Vondelpark is the same.
The staff
The staff at the Stayokay Vondelpark was nice and smiley. I didn’t talk much with them but when I did they were all very helpful and informative.
Lobby
Not only in the lobby but in the whole hostel there is a very strong and good Wi-Fi, which was perfect for me as I was working a lot from there.
Also, there is a billiard table if you feel bored. But you are in Amsterdam so that is very unlikely.
Good to know
Towels are not included but you can purchase from the hostel. You will have to make your own bed.
