Recently, I finally made it to Amsterdam. I went to the Netherland on a 10-day trip and I’ve stayed in Amsterdam for 5 of those days. During my stay there, I’ve stayed in two Stayokay hostels – Vondelpark and Stadsdoelen.

Location
As you can already guess, Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen is in the city center, located right next to one of the city canals. The hostel is just 10 minutes walking from Amsterdam Centraal, so the location is very convenient.
For my whole stay in Amsterdam, I took a tram just once and that was the only time that I used public transportation in the city actually.
Rooms
In Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen I’ve stayed in a big dorm room.
The bed was comfortable and the room overall was clean. From that same room, that I was staying in, there was a nice view of the street and the canal.
The lockers were in front of the room and the bathroom and the showers were on the other side of the corridor.
Bar & breakfast room
The breakfast room, which in the evening is a bar is really nice. I liked that there is a view of one of the canals from there as well.
Breakfast with a view in Amsterdam? Yes, please!
The breakfast at Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen includes coffee, tea, juices, bread, cheese, hams, oats, yogurt, honey and jams, and fruits. You pay it once and then you can eat as much as you want to.
O, yes, and it was a nice place to get some work done if you need to, the Wi-Fi at the hostel is very good and reliable.
The staff
The staff in Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsoelen was nice and polite. Untypical for me, I didn’t bother them with lots of questions.
Good to know
Towels are not included but you can purchase from the hostel. You will have to make your own bed.
Overall, the Stayokay Amsterdam Stadsdoelen is a good idea for a place to stay in Amsterdam close to the city center.
