How to get to Bagdogra
Luckily, there is an international airport in Bagdogra, so getting there it’s very easy and stress-free. The airport is only about a 10-minute drive away from the city.
There are direct Delhi Bagdogra flights and you can reach your final destination within 2 hours from the Indian capital.
You can also travel to Bagdodga by train or bus, but by air will be the most convenient choice.
When to visit Bagdogra
The best time to visit Bagdogra is the summer. The months between March and June & September to early December are known to be the best. Winters in Bagdogra can be quite cold, so travelers are advised to pack wisely for their trip during that time of the year. Warm clothes and shoes are essential if you’re visiting Bagdogra in the colder months.

Less than 50 km away from Bagdogra is the small town of Mirik. There, you can find the beautiful Mirik lake. You can just walk around the lake, have a picnic, or even practice some yoga on the meadows next to the lake. Boating in the lake is also a nice experience.

Go on an adventure at The Dooars
This place is famous for its tea gardens, forests, the River Teesta and wildlife sanctuaries. Some of the animals that you can spot here are elephants, rhinos, deer, and tigers. Trekking and jungle safaris are must-do adventure seekers.
Coronation Bridge
Built in 1930 over the Teesta River, the Coronation Bridge is located around 37 km away from Bagdogra. The bridge was built to celebrate the coronation of King Geroge V and it was built in British architectural style.
Kali Mandir
When you go check out the Coronation Bridge, don’t miss to go and see the Kali Mandir temple too. On the banks of River Teesta, close to the bridge, the temple has the idol of Goddess Kali.
