The Ultimate Travel More & Worry Less Backpack by Standard Luggage is specifically designed to be the maximum legal carry-on that meets all international airline rules.
For my recent trip to SE Asia, I choose the carry-on sized travel backpack by Standard Luggage Co. I used the backpack, which was basically my home for three months, while I was exploring Dubai, The Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and Vietnam. During those three months, I flew with the backpack on airlines, such as WizzAir, Cebu Pacific, Air Asia, Viet Jet, Ryanair, etc.
Standard Luggage’s mission is to help people be happier and more productive. Owl Over The World’s mission is to help you travel more & worry less. I must say that the carry-on sized travel backpack completes both missions.
The Standard Luggage carry-on sized travel backpack helps you to save time and save money without the need to check your bag and pay extra airline fees.
The backpack has an ingenious, clean, and stylish design. It’s suitable for business travelers, backpackers, digital nomads, and everyone in between.
When I started my trip, I was planning to come back to Europe earlier than I actually did, and my plan was to attend an event in Berlin in early March – that’s why I was also carrying boots, a jacket, and some other warm clothes.
I must admit that I was carrying more things that I actually needed and after I decided to stay in SE Asia for longer, I knew that I would need to get rid of some of them.
I left some of my clothes, plus the boots to the people in the hostel where I was staying at in Langkawi, Malaysia. Honestly, except that I didn’t need them any longer, I wasn’t wearing some of them as well.
They were very excited about them and really liked them, so even though I was loving those boots, I didn’t regret my decision for a second.
Don’t make my mistake and pack smarter. Check this SE Asia packing list for inspiration on what to and what not to take with you on your trip.
When I left home my backpack was 14 kilos – my laptop alone weighs around 2 kilos.
Most of the low-cost airlines in Asia have a restriction of 7 kilos for carry-on luggage. However, I ended up paying extra for mine only once. That was when I was getting from Caticlan airport in Boracay to Cebu.
The Standard Luggage carry-on sized travel backpack itself dimensions are: 21.5 x 13.5 x 7.5 in when zipped and 21.5 x 13.5 x 9.5 when expanded. The backpack is 35L but it comes with an expandable capacity of up to 45L. The weight of the backpack is 3.7 pounds or 1.6 kilos.
Inside, the travel backpack has one big space for all of your clothes and three smaller pockets where you can keep all extra things. Personally, I was using the big one for my clothes, toiletries, camera, extra books, etc. The smaller ones, I used for underwear, socks, and swimwear.
There is also one hidden pocket where you can keep your valuables, such as passport and money. However, I wouldn’t recommend trusting the save pocket way too much – everything might happen, so the best it would be to keep your things either with you or locked in a locker.
I used the pocket in question for keeping money in it sometimes, but I’d never search for them in front of other people (I was staying in a dormitory room in hostels 95% of the time). – As you know, better to keep your things safe, than be sorry later.
One of the Standard Luggage carry-on sized travel backpack features that I like the most is that it comes with a separate laptop compartment.
In the same compartments, there are also other extra small pockets that you can use for storing cables, headphones, medicine, or whatever you find suitable to keep in them.
In addition to that, the backpack also comes with a laptop sleeve with a big pocket for your laptop and a smaller one in front where you can keep a tablet or a book. The laptop sleeve is removable and easy to access at airport security, or during the flight. The laptop pocket can hold most of the 15’’ laptops.
The face of the backpack has two convenient pockets as well. The lower one is for full-sized documents, or if you don’t wear any documents with you, any extra luggage.
The upper one, I find it very useful to keep in items, like books, a passport, and your mobile phone. Please, keep in mind, that if you keep your passport and cell in the pocket, you should be able to keep an eye on it – for example when you are waiting at the airport, not when actually have the backpack on your bag.
The design of the Standard Luggage travel backpack is very clean and good looking. The backpack has been made of 1680 denier high tenacity ballistic nylon that is water-resistant and easy to clean.
The ultimate travel more & worry less travel backpack is a 3-in-1 backpack that can be used as a backpack, suitcase, and shoulder bag. It also has a universal sleeve in the back that can easily integrate the backpack so it can be attached to rolling luggage.
One of the most interesting features that the Standard Luggage backpack is the safety whistle. – just in case you end up in any unexpected situation. Smart, a?
The expandable zip that instantly adds up 10L capacity is great for those who want to bring back home any souvenirs that they have bought abroad – I brought back home dresses and coffee from Vietnam.
Apart from the carry-on sized travel backpack, Standard Luggage has other travel products that you might like- packing cube sets, a travel wallet, and a daily backpack for work that I haven’t tried but it looks awesome!
